Join us for this interactive workshop where we’ll examine the complexities of true inclusion—going beyond diversity metrics to uncover the deeper layers of equity work. Together, we’ll confront the uncomfortable truths that often accompany DEI efforts, and navigate the challenges that arise when we step out of performative inclusion and into real, transformative action.

We’ll create space for the vulnerability, discomfort, and honesty that are essential to dismantling systems of oppression, and we’ll clarify your individual and collective roles in fostering a more inclusive environment.

Meet Your Host

Amara is a Canadian-born, Trinidadian-raised social justice educator, astrology lover, and intersectional, anti-racist feminist. At Embodying Equity, the vision is to foster a brave space where we:

  • value consistency over perfection

  • challenge cultures of individualism and binary thinking

  • often don't feel ready, but show up willing anyway

Amara believes in the need for leaders and professionals to be accountable to their communities in service of real holistic care, equity, and justice for all. She also believes there isn’t just one way to do anti-racist work—and that’s a good thing! Amara is here to empower you to do the work alongside her, however you feel like your best self.
